Team Bulldog merge with Phoenix Academy to travel to Bergen, Norway on 6th April for their Fight Festival.
There have been a number of exchange trips over the years giving fighters the opportunity to travel abroad and experience the hospitality of other nations.
This event will be a mixture of White Collar Boxing, Boxing and Kickboxing. In addition there will be displays from other more traditional martial arts.
Bergen is a great city so it will be well worth the weekend trip if you fancy an awayday!
Scheduled to compete are (from Team Bulldog) - Craig Jones, Clara Norman & Anthony Kit.
Craig Jones gets Jan Erik Varai who has travelled to the UK twice in the last year (1 win, 1 loss). What makes thisn interesting is that the win was over Jones a few weeks ago. So the Bulldog fighter will be looking for a quick revenge!
Their last encounter was a good even battle but it was Verdai that had the edge in both fitness and speed, producving more work and ultimately the victory.
Clara Norman also gets a rematch as she faces Heidi Guldseth. The Norwegian defeated Norman about 15 months ago in a cracking white collar bout. Both are different fighters now so this will make an excellent rematch.
Norman has been busy notching up 2 wins and a draw in the last 6 months and will be looking to avenge her only recent loss. She is an example of what hard work and belief can achieve. This is a well deserved opportunity.
Anthony Kit is making his debut for Team Bulldog. He will face Jon Sovold who performed stylishly at the recent Executive Stress event. This one will be more skill than brutality but expect Kit to be stronger. Sovold has shown that he is not easy to hit and unless Kit shuts him down early, he could be chasing and getting picked off for the duration.
The Phoenix Academy also have a strong team travelling over.
Jamie Bourne who recently lost on points to Ibrahim Hoorash, gets the opportunity to avenge that defeat. He insists that he was below par previously and although there is no question that Hoorash is a solid and skilful fighter, he would like the opportunity to face him fully loaded.
James Harvey faces Jusif Hoorash, bigger brother of Ibrahim. We don't know anything about him but Harvey is good enough to make a difference so it will be an interesting contest.
Pick of the bunch is Fion Omerea V Mads Valencia. Both are explosive nand charismatic.
Valencia thrilled us against James Cornick last year in Bournemouth and Omerea was devastating against Danny Zuco just a few weeks ago.
