| PCA MMA Interclub: Great Performances! | | Print | |

During this period of change and upgrade for the Bulldog MMA team it has become clear that a number of students have been "bubbling under" and are now ready to make that step into amateur competition. We aim to see that no one is over looked and that activity is increased over the coming months. Both men made excellent use of their knee techniques against strong grapplers.
This was a no decision interclub therefore fighters were permitted to continue even when subbed. Ashley Bodman showed great improvment and potential with his stand up skills and an evenly matched 1st bout. On the floor he also continues to progress making continuous submission attempts.
On the floor he continued to work his submission attempts but his stronger opponent took control a little more. This was an all round beneficial mornings work for all involved and it is good for Bulldog Ultimate Training Academy to be forging strong links with their brothers over at Poole Cage Academy.

It was a quiet one by Interclub standards over at the Poole Cage Academy, but clashing with Fathers Day clearly didn't help. Team Bulldog MMA travelled across with just two competitors for this one. Onur Turkoz & Ashley Bodman represented, putting in two excellent performances each against tough opposition.
Onur Turkez was far too strong in his first contest and the contest never went to ground. His second contest was a little more even and he worked some excellent submission skills into his performance. Both of his match ups resulted in early finishes via knee strike and then rear naked choke.
His second bout was a test as he faced a more experienced and stronger Kickboxer. However he stuck to his plan and closed down the range, preventing his opponent from punching effectively.
