|Absolute Adrenaline...Never Mind: The "Dominator" Gets Fighter Of the Night!||| Print ||
Dommy Brown delivered the performance of his life in his Kickboxing debut against the excellent unbeaten Tony Mallinson (Spartans).
Brown was always going to be up against it and the first round was a torrid one for him as Mallinson outclassed him in every department. Kicks, punches, footwork and defence were all excellent from the Spartans fighter and the end of the round saw a bloodied red faced Brown return to his stool.
However, the second round was a revelation as Brown stormed into action and backed Mallinson up for long periods on the ropes. Mallinson defended well and returned two or three shots at a time but this was not nearly enough as Brown swarmed at him from all angles.
The style, posture and balance was intact and this was in no way a scrappy performance. The crowd roared their approval as both men traded with Brown once again getting the upperhand.
The final round was more of the same as Brown dominated the action. Mallinson just could not get back into his groove and was falling further behind.
Although far from one sided, the 2nd and 3rd had totally turned the fight around and at the bell the decision, and the Marly Wilde Memorial "Fighter Of The Night" trophy went to Dom Brown!
