| Absolute Adrenaline...Never Mind Results: Tough Debut For Winstanley! | | Print | |

Original opponent Lewis Kerley weighed in far to heavy and Aupy was ready to go, having been let down on the card two days previously. Aupy wanted this one on the floor as he had no stand up game to speak of. Winstanley on the other hand, need to stand up but had worked on a floor game for his original opponent. This all made for a hard night for both men, but it was Aupy who got his own way for most of the contest. Whilst on the floor Winstanley made several successful escapes before being dragged back down to the canvas. It was hard and tough and both men were feeling the pace as they moved to the last round. Winstanley needed a stoppage on 2 out of 3 of the judges cards. Early on in the final round Winstanley reversed Aupy, gaining full mount position and delivering some great shots, much to the delight of the crowd, but mid-way through the round Aupy picked him up to slam and delivered him onto the ringside tables. Winstanley was hurt but insisted on continuing to the final bell. Even in the last 20 seconds he looked for a neck crank to secure victory, but time ran out and Aupy got the decision. Winstanley has a great future now following this showing!
