Candice-Russel
Candice Russell: Marine Engineer

I have always been a physically active person. However most of my adult
life was dominated by one sport racing yachts.

Looking to do something different a friend suggested I join the Bulldog Ultimate Training Academy where he trained to do boxing.

At the time I had little interest in martial arts or boxing and had
never participated in any similar sport before, however there was
nothing to lose as I was offered trial period membership, enabling me
to try all the classes and find out which of the styles was suitable.

The first class was tough ( real tough ). I was not as fit as first
thought, my form was rubbish and I ached like hell, but with the
trainers pushing me I knew it was the best way of getting fit and
everyone was having so much fun.

Before the end of the trial month I was addicted and within a couple
of weeks could feel the improvement in my fitness so signed up to do
all of the classes.

The Bulldog trainers and fighters displayed disciple, focus and a
positive approach that I was in awe of. They assured me with practice and
dedication the sport was rewarding and they were right.

My goal on joining the Bulldog Ultimate Training Academy was to improve my fitness and to be good enough to do pad work drills, I never dreamed that my fitness and
ability would have matured enough to have the opportunity to fight for Team Bulldog.
In three years I have achieved so much and made so many friends, life
is truly what you make it.

A proud member of Team Bulldog

John Water: Aviation Instructor

I started Kickboxing at The Bulldog Ultimate Training Academy nearly 6 years ago at the grand old age of 48 and it’s a great way to keep fit.

The instruction is first class with UK, European and World champions on the instructor team.

The class sizes are such that everyone can benefit from the training with no one left out. Most people, like myself, go along just for the fitness benefits, but if you have the skills and dedication it is possible to join the fighter team and progress to world championship level should you so desire it!

The instructors are friendly and encouraging and the lessons run in a relaxed yet disciplined way.

To anyone considering taking up martial arts: don’t even think of going anywhere else. You won’t find anywhere better than Bulldog and despite the name, they really don’t bite!

It’s a great gym

Craig Jones: Business Manager

“I started training at the Bulldog Ultimate Training Academy about 5 years ago. Having been a boxing fan for many years, I thought I'd start by having some one to one coaching just to get fit.

I found everybody involved at the gym to be very welcoming.
Although I only intended to start lesson's just to get fit, I made such progress that when the opportunity arose to compete on one of their events, I couldn't resist.

I found competing extremely rewarding, and 4 White Collar Boxing matches later, I was drawn to the Kickboxing arena as it was very active and there were plenty of opportunities.

I am now preparing for my first Kickboxing contest.

Competition was never my intention but I got hooked and am now looking for new challenges all the time.

I'd recommend the Bulldog Ultimate Training Academy to anyone who is looking to get fit, and gain confidence.
I've had the opportunity to train with some of the best fighters in the country, and to make many new friends also.

There is no pressure to compete but if you have an ability they will recognise and highlight it, giving you a chance to re-define yourself for the better”
