Little Acorns, 5-7 year olds:
This popular foundation course is designed to introduce children to the positive side of life as well as martial arts. These classes provide a solid foundation for children to build on, embracing key character development skills such as self-discipline, awareness, improved focus, co-operation & motivation
Parents have noticed marked improvements in their childrens progress at school as a direct result of this programme and our instructors are dedicated to teaching children the important values required to pave the way for a bright future.
THE BASIC PROGRAM:
This is one class per week and as the label suggests, it covers the basics and serves as an introduction to training.
“Little Acorns” has a pre- grading system, which is designed to prepare juniors for the Youth & adult grading syllabus. Pre-grading has seven phases, two of which are covered in this basic programme.
The majority of children upgrade to the “Black Belt Programme” so that they can continue with their graduation options.
THE BLACK BELT PROGRAM:
Our most popular option takes students through the entire pre-graduation system from white/yellow to white/black belt. Students grade about every three months and with the option of up to two classes per week there is opportunity to fast track to the youth class (Instructor recommended).
The recipe for success is the same for anything in life: “YOU GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN”.
Our mission is to ensure that each student be given the opportunity to grow and develop into a successful person as well as a martial artist.
Starting at around 7yrs old, Youths will be educated in many other aspects of life in addition to their martial arts training. Our instructors work to develop good concentration, a positive outlook, a polite personality and an attitude that is eager to achieve.
At this crucial time we also concentrate on anti-bully skills, the danger of strangers and temper recognition.
In this dangerous and competitive world that we live in, where physical activity and mind / body stimulation have been replaced with hours in front of a computer screen, there has never been a more important time to consider the martial arts.
TOP DOG BLACK BELT SCHOOLS are committed to playing their part in reducing the “Heart Attack Generation”, one black belt at a time.
Serving as an introduction to martial arts, this program offers one class per week covering the basics in technique, fitness and attitude.
There are 14 graduation levels in Youths Kickboxing and the first four are covered in the Basic Program.
Most students upgrade fairly rapidly to the Black Belt Program in order to continue with their achievements.
BLACK BELT PROGRAM:
It is important for children to learn the importance of setting short-term goals in order to achieve long term success. The Black Belt program is a 36 month (on average) course that takes the student from white belt through to black belt. Graduation takes place about every two months. Some students may take a little longer to complete the course and the system is designed to cater for this.
We are dedicated to developing the student as a person, preparing them for the many life challenges that await them. It is important that our Instructors develop a rapport with parents so that they may work together to achieve the best results.
Once a student has reached Black Belt standard, there are several options open to them.
MASTER CLASS PROGRAM & LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
For exceptional and dedicated youths, these two programmes offer a fast track to success.
MASTER CLASS continues the graduation program through Dan grades whilst exploring the benefits and challenges of high level competition, the influence of other martial arts, the use of weapons (as a martial arts form) & the application of martial arts in real situations.
LEADERSHIP covers all of the above and much more. This program serves as an apprenticeship, covering all aspects of teaching, coaching and managing. Both physical and mental challenges are covered with an added emphasis on teaching others as well as being taught. Valuable communication skills help the student to interact with all manner of abilities and levels of intelligence, developing an all round ability that will assist with their growth regardless of which path they choose to take in the future. LEADERSHIP is a blueprint for a successful life.
Students will be referred to this programme by their instructor, as it is a scholarship that only the exceptional individual will be capable of achieving.
When this time arrives, instructors will arrange a meeting with both parents and student to discuss the options.
“The martial arts demand an attitude that is both compatible and beneficial to everyday living. This aspect is as important as the physical skills that are taught.
Negative peer pressure is more prevalent today than it has ever been. The martial arts offer the tools of confident independence, the ability to make up your own mind and move forward successfully & positively”.
